THE SCHOOL —

Arising out of the tradition of French Schools of Fine Arts, the Ecole Supérieure d’Art Dunkerque-Tourcoing (Esä) welcomes 300 students across two campuses, one in Dunkirk and another in Tourcoing. The school offers a major in Fine Arts in which students are set on a specialized pathway to becoming contemporary artists, critics and creators.

The facilities of these two sites include:
- Professional workshops and ateliers supervised by a team of specialized technicians in the following fields; ceramics, molding, modeling, sculpture, wood, metal, screen printing, engraving, typography, drawing, painting, analogue and digital photography, sound, video and multimedia.
- Studio spaces that allow students to have a suitable place within the school to design and develop their personal projects.
- A library on each of the two sites offers access to a Reference Collection in the field of art history and theory. Materials include key theoretical texts, monographs, artist books, catalogs, and audio visual supports.
- Galleries where international exhibitions, conferences, and artist talks are organized. This allows students to be immersed in a stimulating cultural environment that enriches their artistic research and practice.

TOURCOING—

Tourcoing is located in the heart of the Lille metropolis in the North of France. It is the third largest city in the Nord-Pas de Calais region with a population of 92,000. Rich in its textile industrial past, the "Cité du Broutteux" has largely undertaken an economic reconversion by investing in sectors that look towards the future, in particular the Creative Industries.

Full of talent and dynamic enterprises, Tourcoing shines through its abundant cultural life, open to all. It is enriched by iconic events that punctuate its local life, such as the Jazz Festival, the Giant Weekend, and nationally reknown cultural structures, such as the Museum of Fine Arts Eugène Leroy and the Fresnoy, national studio of contemporary art.

THE EURO-REGION, LILLE - KORTRIJK- TOURNAI —

The school is located in the Euroregion of Lille, Kortrijk and Tournai ; the economic, political and cultural heart of Europe. Train lines allow rapid access to European capitals. If desired, a round trip to visit an exhibition in Paris, London, Brussels or Amsterdam is easily made in one day.
The rest of Europe is also easely accessible via the Lille - Lesquin airport.
